Once Upon a December

Memories make it so tough,
To just get up and leave,
When bound by chains of like and love,
Reality is so difficult to believe.

He seemed great in his prime,
Old habits used to be the way,
But all this used time,
You need to throw away.

So maybe some time near,
There will be no reason to hide,
You'll have nothing to fear,
As you conquered the once rising tide.

Hung up your gun,
This war is yours,
There is not reason to run,
When light is beyond the doors.

Just always remember,
The things you have been through,
Once upon a December,
This was not too much for you.
