Chains and Locks

You can read in my face,
Empty once again,
Will this be a last embrace,
As my heart is caving in.

I won't last for long,
We should have known,
I always do her wrong,
No more than skin and bone.

Jump in a hole,
You can fill it with dirt,
Fill it full,
Because I can't take the hurt.

The pain will always dig at me,
Leaving me apathetic,
With open eyes still too blind to see,
The life I live pathetic.

I don't think it is right,
To want a tomorrow,
Just the same mediocre trite,
In these arms of sorrow.

Just a closed door,
To a heart-shaped box,
Now nothing more,
Than chains and locks.
