Today life almost ended,
As the ledge crumbled below me,
The love I had befriended,
Took me to my knees.
Ignored my cries,
Tried to leave me for dead,
I could feel my heart die,
Upon my bed.
I shook and I was in shock,
Tears plagued my eyes so I couldn't see,
She tried to hide my heart behind a lock,
Hope was giving up on me.
Afraid to inflict hurt on me anymore,
The wrist just recreates the stain,
Afraid of what the future had in store,
Knowing there was much pain that will remain.
