When darkness is reality,
Sin becomes the norm,
Gentleness turns into brutality,
The sun is covered by a storm.
As we are consumed,
Our will is demolished,
Lies are presumed,
Happiness abolished.
Love becomes hate,
Fake turns true,
Innocence begins to fornicate,
The many are the few.
Relief becomes pain,
Freedom grows into slavery,
The stable are insane,
Leaders lack bravery.
Desire becomes greed,
Good is outweighed by bad,
Flower remains seed,
Joy stays sad.
Sweet turns bitter,
Life is death,
Persistence becomes a quitter,
Right is left.
The awake are tired,
The found is lost,
The employees get fired,
Our resources exhaust.
Wisdom is ignorance,
Confidence is doubt,
Gloom covers radiance,
Our world turns inside out.
Darkness is our definition,
We're running out of time,
It is our ammunition,
Existing is our crime.
That was our past,
Which together we shall smother,
Our shadows no longer cast,
For we have each other.
